Labels on garments have existed since the time sewn garments have. These labels not only convey the name of the brand but also sizes, identification number of the manufacturer, country of origin, and even care instructions. Earlier these labels were sewn in the clothes but in recent times, heat transfer stickers have become quite popular with most manufacturers across the country and the world as well. A look at what exactly are these stickers and how they benefit the RMG as a whole.
Mr Rakesh Patil, Owner, Om Sai Ram Enterprises explains, “Heat Transfer Labels (HTLs) are basically one of the modern branding solutions for apparels or textile products, which are becoming popular all across the world. HTLs are printed labels made by printing on substrate (paper or film) which get transferred on garment. These are called HTLs because they require applying high temperature in order to transfer printed matter from HTLs on garment.” Alternatively, HTLs are also known as Heat Transfer Stickers, Transfer Stickers or tagless labels. Mr Anil of Kite Marketing states, “Heat transfer stickers are those where multi-colour photographic pictures are not possible to print directly. These you can print on paper and transfer with heat transferring machine.”
“Heat Transfer labels are used on garment and other accessories like shoes / leathers / belts to create designs & promotional or decorative products. There are many types based on different fabric materials & effects, like elastic, soft effect, flock, reflective, thicken effect with good colour and washing resistance,” states Mr Milan Seth – Screen Art House of Transfer.
